HGV and warehouse staff in Bristol

Bristol sits on the M5 and M4, which meet at the Almondsbury Interchange, with Avonmouth and the Severn crossings close by. We supply Class 1, Class 2 and van drivers and warehouse staff here.

Pin: Bristol. Square: the Nalon office in Cleckheaton.

Bristol is a unitary authority in the West of England, and Avonmouth is part of Bristol. The M4 and M5 meet north of the city at the Almondsbury Interchange, which is M4 junction 20 and M5 junction 15, near Aztec West, Cribbs Causeway and the Severn Bridges. M4 junction 19 is also M32 junction 1, for Bristol.

Bristol has a small Class D Clean Air Zone, which started on 28 November 2022. Heavy goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are a charged category if they do not meet the zone’s emission standards and have no exemption. GOV.UK’s clean air zone service lists Bristol, and the zone map is on Bristol City Council’s website. Check the map before you route a lorry near the centre.

The Severn crossings matter to anyone who runs into Wales. The M4 Prince of Wales Bridge opened in 1996 and gives a more direct route between England and Newport and Cardiff. National Highways says the M48 Severn Bridge closes to all traffic when gusts above 40 knots (46mph) are expected, and that both bridges close if wind speeds exceed 70 knots (80mph). Tolls to cross the bridges into Wales were in place until 2018 before being removed.
